Century Garage Door covers the north central side of San Antonio, and 78216 is a mid-century neighborhood at heart. Harmony Hills, Shearer Hills, Oak Park-Northwood and Colonial Hills went up largely between the 1950s and the 1970s, when Loop 410 opened the ranch land north of the city to subdivision builders. What that means on a service call is brick ranch homes with attached one and two car garages, original headers, and hardware that has been painted over more times than it has been serviced. Head farther north past 1604 into Stone Oak and Encino Park and the picture flips to newer construction with wider two and three car openings on lighter track. Both wear out.
